Well had an um exciting night last night... Woke up at 1:30am to a horrible crash. Turns out our shelf in the closet had fallen. The one with a bunch of glass on it and that had the bar holding all of her clothes and some of mine... Got pulled right out of the wall. Somehow none of the glass broke. When I inspected the holes where the screws were pulled out I discovered the problem. They anchored it in drywall. No stud behind it. Just right into the drywall and decided that would hold it. They also left it slanting to the front, where all of the weight is from the clothes hanging on the bar. Disaster waiting to happen... So now we have to wait for maintenance to come over and fix it. Last time a shelf fell in the closet, the small one, it took them almost a month to put it back up... I wish I could just do it myself. I could easily make a sturdier shelf with some 2x4's...

humid today ..think the weather channel said like 80%!
had to run some errands...but just too yukky to stay out too long.

Well they actually sent over someone competent yesterday, which was a nice change. He got it put back up and it seems to be nice and sturdy now. Well about as sturdy as it can be without being screwed into some studs. But ya.

Rained again this morning. Only 75 as the high but hotter in here. Wish this apartment had cross-ventilation like my old one did. Oh well. Didn't get to run for the 2nd day in a row due to rain. If it is raining when I go to run, I don't. If it rains while I'm running, I finish the run. Weird.

Ya that month starts, and then in 2 weeks I have meetings. Then next thing I know we are starting again...

cross ventilation is a wonderful thing, ....that I too, do not have---while I DO have windows on the north side of the building, half of the condo (and a good deal of the walls I have) are in the way, thus even if I were to open them and the eastern balcony door, all I get is....a cool kitchen and bugs in my bedroom

therefor we do not open the windows on the north side (got another window in a room that is closed off and stuff full to the ceiling which means no access to said window).

too humid to keep them open today.

Windows are great if they have cross ventilation. As we both know, without it, they are not so great...

mold is high though---feel like I have cotton in my sinuses....

Not sure how humid it is supposed to be today, but probably not horrible as it hasn't been bad the past week. We are supposed to get some rain/storms this afternoon though.

I think pollen may be high here but I can't tell for sure.

Massage? Huh. That sounds nice but I just couldn't ever bring myself to go get one. I'll stay all tense thanks.

lol, yeah you probably would have the same problems my hubby has....but as a lady a massage is a nice indulgence ....not to mention it also helps to lower blood pressure as well as allow me to get some better sleep.

yeah pollen probably is up there too....

Glad it works well for you. I'll just stick to the occasional shoulder massages my wife gives me.

Went in to work today to get some stuff done. Lots changing to say the least. Also talked to them about putting my wife on my insurance. Currently I pay about $238 a month, $119 a paycheck, for just me. If I added my wife it would jump to over $600 a month... $200 more each paycheck... No thank you... Looking at other options now.

Well we went in to Comcast office today. Looks like the lady gave us a special promotion price on the package we have. Didn't even ask for it she just did. Still on the hook for this months but we got the extra receiver taken back and that charge removed. So ya...

insurance...its a racket. yes, employee is one price, employee plus kids is a bit more, employee plus spouse=most expensive plan they have, which makes very little sense...I mean, who goes to the doctor more??? kids or adults? so why would employee + spouse be MORE than employee+ kids?(no spouse).

we had our own separate insurance for many years, was cheaper to just insure employee alone....only when I stopped working did we add me to his (and yeah for 4x the price!)

Employee+family was the cheapest after employee. It was only like $750 per month for employee+family. Only $100-150 more than the employee+spouse or employee+kid. Just seems stupid. We are probably going to end up just having separate ones as well. Too expensive otherwise.

Ya the thing was, most people there were there just to pay their bill. Can't pay by cash through the mail so they have to go in.

still cant understand why employee + family would be cheaper than employee+spouse, I mean family could mean LOTS of kids, and kids usually wind up going to the doctor a LOT more than adults (heck, you would have to hypnotize my hubby to get him to go). so why is 2 people more expensive than 2+??????

ours finally came down to being about the same zone for anyone added to employee, with spouse still being about $50 more each month than the others

but without options we had to bite and take it.

which brings up another question.....keep seeing those commercials for the phone ap that allows you to photograph a check and have it deposited into your bank account; my question: what happens to that check then? do you need to get it to the bank sometime or does the person you wrote it to just toss it in the trash? (hopefully writing void on it first--though that still leaves your bank info and signature available for anyone to steal).....
was thinking about this as I, yes, still write checks

and would not like to write one to someone who can just toss my bank info and siggie into their trash! got enough problems without that one.

Totally agree. It makes zero sense as to that. My parents had 4 kids, if it worked the same way mine does, it was a lot cheaper insurance wise for them to have all of us on there. Still doesn't make sense since we went to the doctors a fair amount.

They don't have cash. They got paid, cashed their check, blew their cash, and were back to square one. At least they paid their bill instead of blowing it on alcohol or drugs.

I would guess you write void on it and then either toss it or shred it. I would shred it. But ya, I agree. What do you do with them then?

Almost time to go to a buddies wedding. I hate weddings.

I wonder what the bank says....I dont bank with those that have that 'option' so I do not know what they suggest (or say)....would be nice to have an answer though---really dont want my bank info and siggie floating around for any lowlife to pick up.

I don't have that option either, which is fine with me. I would much prefer to take any checks to an ATM or to the bank to have them deposited. Don't need my info floating around.

got a new vacuum and spent a few hours trying to clean...spent a good amount of time putting things back that it knocked over

....and then removing all of my hair that had wound around the carpet brush, now I remember why I dont vacuum.

Ya that is definitely a downfall of having long hair. My wife's is the same way. It is everywhere... And then I get to clean it out of the vacuum. Oh such joy...
